Police Detain 8 Teen Suspects in Assault on Rivals Home, Claim Self-Defense After Ambush

Sai Noi Police Station detained eight teenage suspects involved in an attack on a rival’s home. The suspects claimed they went to resolve issues for juniors assaulted at the Red Cross fair. They said the rival party ambushed them first, prompting them to return fire in self-defense. Authorities have not yet filed charges and are questioning the suspects to reconstruct the timeline.

The case involved a group of over ten teenagers attacking rivals, resulting in three injuries. The incident occurred in front of a house in Soi 4, Sai Noi Subdistrict, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province at 23:30 on 10 March 2026, as previously reported.

At 02:00 on 11 March 2026, at the Sai Noi Police investigative room, Pol. Col. Natdecha Thanisaprapong, Chief of Sai Noi Police Station, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Boonruang Chairat, Deputy Chief of Investigation, and Pol. Lt. Rewat Suriya, Investigator, led the team to bring in eight suspects involved in the attack for questioning and identity verification against CCTV footage.

They also seized a bronze Honda Civic, license plate Kor 5944 Nonthaburi, with front damage from a thrown grenade and blood stains on the back seat; a bronze Nissan Navara pickup truck, license plate Thon 7797 Bangkok; and two motorcycles—all used in the incident—for evidence collection.

Mr. Theeraphat Imboi, or Oh, 23, said, “I drove the car and as soon as I parked, a man shot at the rear right door window. My friend sitting in the back was hit. Then a grenade was thrown at the front of the car. I tried to reverse the vehicle while other friends ran off, leaving only me and the injured friend who was shot through the neck. I tried to run but ended up driving my friend to Sai Noi Hospital.”

Mr. Oom, 20, said, “My junior under 18 was severely beaten, stabbed in the chest, and his leg broken. Three juniors were assaulted. Initially, a person named Q had been provoking us for a long time, but we always avoided conflict. This time, I called Q to ask why he hurt my juniors because I know him. Q thought I was coming to retaliate, but I intended to settle things peacefully or fight one-on-one to end the matter. Q’s family knows mine. After chatting, Q accused me of planning to raid his house. Around 23:00, I led friends on motorcycles towards Q’s house. Before we arrived, someone in the car was shot first. We didn’t know who fired, so we returned fire. The other side kept shooting. We only had one gun. The volley of shots was from them. One friend was shot in the back of the head and is now hospitalized at Sai Noi Hospital.”

Mr. Krisadakorn Banlamphong, 23, said, “I was in the front seat of a car when we arrived. Someone waved us down and said a friend in the back was shot. I fired back to escape the village, emptying the magazine. I fired through the window, then opened the door and continued shooting. Afterwards, I reversed the car to take the injured friend to Sai Noi Hospital. I used a modified gun. I don’t know who threw the grenade. I don’t know the rival group, but my juniors did. We went to talk because they were injured—stabbed and with broken legs—at the Sai Noi Red Cross fair. Both sides know each other. The rivals fired first; as men, we fought back and refused to back down.”

Authorities have yet to press charges and are questioning all eight suspects to reconstruct events. Further questioning of the rival party will follow, as both sides claim shooting occurred. CCTV footage from the scene will be reviewed again to identify the shooters causing injuries on both sides for legal proceedings.
