Cyber Police Arrest Two Men in Rayong for Methamphetamine and Ice Drug Sales Despite 8 Previous Prison Terms

Cyber police arrested two young men from Rayong province who were secretly selling drugs to teenagers via social media. A background check revealed one had been imprisoned eight times for drug offenses but showed no sign of reform.

On 11 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Surapol Prembutr, Commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Division, Pol. Lt. Gen. Naradet Thiprak, Police Commander attached to the Royal Thai Police Office, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Siriwat Deepor, Commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Division 1, ordered Pol. Col. Kritin Tapsilo, Superintendent of Intelligence and Special Tools Unit, and Pol. Lt. Col. Noppadon Butruang, Deputy Superintendent of the same unit, to lead the operation.

They arrested Mr. Ekkawat Kaewkrajang, known as Arm, 33, and Mr. Peeraphong Saentaweesuk, known as Teen, 29, both from Rayong province, seizing 400 methamphetamine pills and 10 grams of ice.

The investigation unit detected a Facebook account involved in secretly selling drugs to teenagers via social media. They identified the account owner as Mr. Ekkawat or Arm and conducted a sting operation to buy 400 methamphetamine pills and 10 grams of ice for 10,000 baht, arranging the handover in front of Wat Sriwonophas Sathitphon temple, Klaeng subdistrict, Mueang district, Rayong.

At the arranged time, Mr. Ekkawat and Mr. Peeraphong arrived in a red Honda Civic without license plates to deliver the drugs. Police revealed themselves to arrest them, but the suspects attempted to flee. After a chase, police apprehended them near Salasangkasi market in Phe subdistrict, Mueang Rayong district.

During initial questioning, both confessed to buying the drugs from Facebook friends to resell for profit. A background check showed Mr. Ekkawat had eight previous prison terms for drug offenses but remained undeterred and resumed drug dealing repeatedly.

Police charged them with "jointly selling a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine) without permission and jointly possessing Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell without permission, acts done for commercial purposes." They are being held for further legal action.
