Man Armed with Gun Robs Over 3 Million Baht in Gold from Famous Nakhon Pathom Mall, Flees Scene

A lone gunman armed with a firearm robbed more than 20 gold chains valued at over 3 million baht from a famous gold shop inside a mall in Nakhon Pathom before fleeing. Police are urgently reviewing CCTV footage to track down the suspect and pursue the case.

At 19:30 on 11 March 2026, reporters reported that the 191 police unit received a report of an armed robbery at a gold shop inside a prominent mall in Nakhon Pathom. Upon receiving the report, officers informed their superiors and proceeded to the scene with Police Major General Pitak Upphong, Commander of Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police, Police Colonel Achirawat Thawornjaroenwat, Chief of Mueang Nakhon Pathom Police Station, and the investigation team from the same station.

The crime scene was a famous gold shop located on the first floor near the escalator. The storefront was about 8 meters wide. Three female employees were found inside, visibly shocked and frightened. Additionally, investigators found an unknown caliber bullet casing at the scene, which was collected as evidence.

Initial inquiries revealed the suspect was a single male dressed in a long-sleeve black-and-white plaid shirt, black pants, black dress shoes, and a waist bag, wearing a full-face helmet. He used an unknown caliber firearm to rob the gold shop, stealing a tray of gold necklaces whose exact weight is not yet known. After the robbery, he fled on a gray-and-black Honda Wave motorcycle without a license plate, heading toward Phetkasem Road and disappearing. Police have not yet determined his escape route but have coordinated with officers to set up checkpoints to intercept him.

Gold shop employees reported that before the incident, while they were closing the shop, a man with neat attire wearing a black-and-white plaid long-sleeve shirt, long pants, and a full-face helmet approached and stopped in front of the shop. He threatened them to hand over the gold while holding a plastic bag in his left hand, which he quickly used to collect the gold.

After taking the gold and valuables, the suspect fired three shots upward inside the mall to clear a path for escape, then ran out immediately. An employee then triggered the alarm and notified the police to investigate. Authorities are currently conducting further investigations and reviewing CCTV footage around the area and along the suspect’s escape route.
