Immigration Police 3 arrested a "Chinese man" for illegally trading "potkey and laughing gas" through online channels in Pattaya, with the suspect confessing to the charges.
On 12 March 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanumas Boonylak, Commander of Immigration Police, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Panthana Nuchnarat, Deputy Commander of Immigration Police, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Songprod Sirisukha, Commander of Immigration Police 3, ordered Pol. Col. Suriya Puangsombat, Superintendent of the Investigation Division of Immigration Police 3, and Pol. Lt. Col. Pitipat Srithana-aphinan, Deputy Superintendent, to lead a team to arrest MR. YUANJIE WANG, 35, a Chinese national. Seized items included one .38 caliber pistol, 58 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 16 rounds of various other ammunition, 30 potkey heads, and 17 tanks of nitrous oxide (laughing gas).
Pol. Col. Prinya Klinkaesorn, spokesman for Immigration Police 3, said the arrest stemmed from information received from an informant that MR. YUANJIE WANG had been illegally selling drugs and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to youths in Pattaya, Chonburi Province via online platforms. He openly advertised the products without fear of the law.
Investigations identified a two-story house used as a stash and dispatch point in Pattaya city. Police planned a sting operation purchasing one tank of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for 2,400 baht. MR. YUANJIE WANG brought the gas out of the house, preparing to deliver it via motorcycle taxi, and was then arrested. Authorities searched the house and confiscated all seized items.
During interrogation, MR. YUANJIE WANG confessed. He is being charged with "selling modern drugs without a license (nitrous oxide / laughing gas), possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license, and possession and distribution of Category 2 narcotics without authorization (etomidate / potkey)." He was taken into custody and handed over to Pattaya Police Station for further legal proceedings.
