Police are pursuing a Chinese man after CCTV footage captured him carrying an unconscious fellow Chinese woman into a car, driving over 230 kilometers, before abandoning her nude upper body in a canal.
On 23 Feb 2026, Mr. Jak (alias), 28, filed a report with Sub-Lieutenant Sanya Jaichan, deputy investigator at Nong Prue Police Station, stating that Ms. Ji Zhengjiao, 34, a Chinese national, had sent a brief message asking for help saying “Help me” at approximately 06:37 on 21 Feb. Attempts to contact her failed, so he coordinated with Mr. Zhang Xiaotian, 31, her boyfriend. Upon learning this, Mr. Zhang flew from China and reported to the investigators, requesting police assistance to find her, fearing for her safety. The last known location of Ms. Ji was a pool villa on Chaiyaphruek Soi, Village No.12, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.
After receiving the missing person report, Police Colonel Natthaphon Phongsuksakul, chief of Nong Prue Police Station, ordered the investigative team to search for information. They went to the last known location at the pool villa and obtained key evidence from CCTV showing a Chinese man attempting to carry and drag Ms. Ji Zhengjiao, who was unconscious. He put his arm around her from behind and dragged her along a walkway inside the pool villa before lifting her into a black BMW sedan and driving toward Bangkok.
The Nong Prue investigative team traced the car and found the registered owner, who claimed a Chinese friend had borrowed the car and kept it for one day before returning it.
On the evening of 12 March, Mr. Zhang gave another statement to Nong Prue police after DNA tests confirmed that the unidentified female corpse, found floating and decomposing in a canal near mango and coconut plantations in Village No.10, Bang Phae Subdistrict, Bang Phae District, Ratchaburi Province—approximately 238 km from the pool villa and discovered on 25 Feb—was Ms. Ji Zhengjiao. The body showed no signs of injury or wounds.
The news team visited the pool villa to inquire but was told that all evidence had been submitted to Nong Prue Police Station and no further details would be provided to avoid impacting the investigation. The villa management stated they have cooperated fully with police and were shocked to learn that the body found in Ratchaburi was Ms. Ji Zhengjiao.
Regarding case progress, reporters were informed that police are gathering evidence to issue an arrest warrant for the Chinese man involved but are not disclosing further information at this time. Records show Ms. Ji Zhengjiao had entered and exited Thailand five times, with her latest entry on 9 Dec 2025, before her body was found.
Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
