“Oak-Aim” Visit “Thaksin,” Countdown to Release in About 2 Months, Excited and Grateful for All Support

“Oak-Aim” represented the family in visiting Thaksin, revealing that his various body aches are improving steadily. They shared encouraging conversations while counting down to his release in about two months. No messages were left for the Pheu Thai Party ahead of the prime minister vote.

At 11:00 AM on 16 March 2026 at Klong Prem Central Prison, Mr. Panthongtae Shinawatra, Ms. Natthiya Puangkam, wife of Ms. Pinthongta Shinawatra Kunakornwong, represented the family in visiting Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, accompanied by lawyer Mr. Winyat Chatmontri. Red Shirt supporters continue to come to encourage the Shinawatra family every Monday and Thursday, the scheduled visitation days.

After about 40 minutes of visitation, Ms. Pinthongta revealed that today's conversation with her father went well. They are steadily counting down the days. In the coming two months, her father will continue with his usual activities without anything special planned.

His body aches have been gradually improving, but given his age, occasional bathroom visits or restless sleep are normal. She admitted feeling excited as the release nears, though time seems to slow as it gets closer. She expressed gratitude to everyone who has offered support, acknowledging that those waiting outside also feel the time passing slowly, so they encourage each other.

When asked about the upcoming prime minister vote in the House of Representatives and whether Mr. Thaksin had any messages for the Pheu Thai Party, Ms. Pinthongta said there was none. Mostly, they did not discuss politics but rather topics like grandchildren and health to pass the time. This helped keep his spirits up, preventing sadness and maintaining morale. She noted that if those inside feel stressed, it affects those outside as well, so they strive to support and encourage each other to persevere.
