Influencer Baffled as Thieves Steal 250-Kilogram Safe from Condo

An influencer was baffled when thieves broke into her condominium in central Korat, lifting a 250-kilogram safe that contained 35 baht worth of gold bars and sacred amulets valued at over 3 million baht. The suspects vanished without a trace, and police are urgently pursuing them.

On 16 March 2026, Ms. Panray Khemmee, 33, a food influencer from Chatturat District, Chaiyaphum Province, known online as “Mod Tanoy” or Mod Oi, presented a police report to the media after burglars stole property from her condominium unit located in the city center, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The perpetrators carried away the entire safe, which measured about 1.28 meters tall and weighed around 250 kilograms, disappearing mysteriously. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on 14 March 2026.

Ms. Panray, the victim, revealed, “I realized the property was missing after returning to the unit on the day of the incident. My boyfriend opened the built-in cabinet inside the room and found the safe hidden within it had disappeared. I was shocked and stunned because the safe was large and heavy. From the outside, the safe’s location was not visible since the built-in cabinet had to be opened first to see it.”

Upon inspecting the contents previously stored in the safe, several high-value items were missing along with the safe, including gold bars weighing a total of 35 baht: two 10-baht bars, two 5-baht bars, and five 1-baht bars. Other valuables included a 4-baht Luang Por Ruay gold bracelet set in a 1-baht gold frame valued at about 100,000 baht, and a Luang Por Koon coin set in a gold frame worth approximately 10,000 baht. The total estimated loss exceeded 3 million baht.

What was puzzling was that no signs of forced entry or disturbance were found in the unit. The door remained intact, leading to the belief that the suspects may have acted while no one was inside and had planned the theft carefully. Given the safe’s weight of 250 kilograms, it was unlikely to have been moved by a single person and likely required at least three individuals. Although several surveillance cameras were installed both outside the unit and within the building, no clues of the suspects’ presence were found.

Ms. Panray also stated, “The last time I saw the safe inside the unit was on 21 February 2026. When I checked again on 14 March 2026, it was gone. This is quite a long period, but normally only my boyfriend and I enter the unit. There are two sets of keys; my boyfriend and I hold one set, and the other is with the condominium management. After the incident, I asked the management, and they informed me today that they had already sent surveillance footage files to the police on 15 March.”

Additionally, Ms. Panray intends to visit the police station again to follow up on the case’s progress and urges the authorities to expedite the arrest of the suspects, as the stolen property is highly valuable. She expressed concern that the incident might undermine residents’ confidence in the condominium’s security.

Most recently, at 1:00 p.m., officers from the Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station conducted a thorough on-site investigation and collected evidence inside the unit. Media personnel were not allowed in the operational area to prevent compromising the case. The police will continue to interview witnesses and collect fingerprints at the station according to legal procedures.
