The latest update at 13:00 on 16 Mar 2026 at Division 2, Economic Crime Suppression Division, Pol. Col. Naruephon Karuna, Division 2 Chief, spoke about the case involving Kritich Pakichan, Trang MP for the third district from the Democrat Party, and his elder and younger brothers who were summoned by investigators from Division 2 of the ECD to acknowledge charges of tax evasion totaling 7.4 million baht.
Today, only Kritich's second eldest brother came to acknowledge the charges. Investigators informed him of the tax evasion charge and then released him, as this was only a summons appearance and there was no indication of flight risk. Kritich himself has parliamentary immunity and, with the parliamentary session ongoing, has not yet come to acknowledge the charges.
Regarding this tax evasion case, investigators issued summonses to several parties: a legal entity, Kritich's eldest and second eldest brothers, as well as Kritich himself. However, Kritich's eldest brother remains uncontactable at this time.
Reports indicate this case arose from events between 2016 and 2019 involving Kritich's family business, a partnership operating in construction contracting since 1987. After Kritich's father took over management, the business was inherited by his wife and children upon his passing. However, the business later faced difficulties due to interference in construction contracting work, leading to losses and inability to pay taxes. This resulted in tax liabilities of 1.7 million baht plus accrued interest, totaling 7.4 million baht.
