Thieves Steal Mod Aoy’s Safe in Korat Condo CCTV in Elevator Removed, Management Cites LAN Cable Issue

Update: Thieves stole "Mod Aoy"’s safe inside a condominium in Korat. CCTV cameras in the elevator were found removed, with the building management citing a faulty LAN cable. Police are urgently analyzing CCTV footage and screening building access, stating the case is not complicated.

In the case of Ms. Panray, known as “Mod Tanoy” or “Mod Aoy,” a food influencer who reported to police that valuables inside a large safe went missing from her condominium unit in downtown Nakhon Ratchasima. The heavy safe was hidden inside a built-in cabinet in the room, last seen on 21 February 2026, before it was discovered missing on the night of 14 March 2026 at about 11:30 p.m., causing great shock to the victim.

Inspection of the safe’s contents revealed a total of 35 baht in gold bars, including two 10-baht bars, two 5-baht bars, and five 1-baht bars. Also missing were a Luang Por Ruay gold-plated stainless steel bracelet worth about 100,000 baht and gold-plated Luang Por Koon coins valued at around 10,000 baht, totaling losses over 3 million baht as previously reported.

The latest update on 17 March 2026: Ms. Panray, the victim, disclosed that police invited her to carefully point out the crime scenes, from inside the unit, the elevator, to the condominium’s parking area. They found abnormalities where CCTV cameras inside the elevator had been removed. The building management explained the LAN cable had issues. Authorities have recorded and preserved this footage as evidence, while other CCTV footage is still under police review.


Pol. Col. Sirichai Srichai Panya, superintendent of Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station, said that yesterday officers thoroughly re-examined the crime scene, including CCTV locations, building entry and exit paths, and vulnerable points. They also questioned the building management about security measures to support the investigation.

Preliminary findings show numerous individuals and vehicles entering and exiting the condominium. Authorities will screen and analyze this data carefully to find connections to the incident. They are also checking all vehicles that could have been used to transport the large safe. Meanwhile, evidence inside the victim’s unit has been fully collected for case analysis. If recovered items are found, they will be compared with the evidence collected.

Regarding social media criticism, Pol. Col. Sirichai said the case is unlikely to be complicated because the condominium has clear security and access controls. He believes a thorough review will soon identify the perpetrator. He urges the public to follow information critically. The victim has cooperated fully, providing useful detailed information to help the investigation and expedite the apprehension of the suspect for legal action.
