The Provincial Police Chief of Rayong held a meeting to resolve the case of a suspect who shot the son of a resort owner in Ban Khai to death. The suspect befriended the victim, invited him for drinks before shooting him, then fled by car. The suspect has now surrendered at Khao Yoi Police Station.

On 18 Mar 2026 GMT+7, a suspect fatally shot Mr. Panyot, also known as “Ae,” aged 47, the son of a resort owner in Ban Khai district. The gunman booked a room, befriended the victim, invited him to drink beer in the room, then shot him three times in the back of the head, causing Mr. Panyot’s death. Afterwards, the gunman fled by car but abandoned the vehicle on a hillside road in Ban Khai district. The incident occurred the previous night.

This morning, Police Major General Pramot Ngampradit, Provincial Police Chief of Rayong, visited Ban Khai Police Station and called an urgent meeting with Police Colonel Pramot Khongkhalai, Chief of Ban Khai Police Station, the investigation team, and officers from Rayong Provincial Police and Ban Khai Police to expedite the case resolution.

Police Major General Pramot Ngampradit stated that after the incident, officers conducted an all-night investigation to track and apprehend the suspect. They have now identified the perpetrator and will continue investigating the motive. He urged police officers to work diligently.

Police Colonel Pramot Khongkhalai, Chief of Ban Khai Police Station, revealed that the gunman has surrendered to officers at Khao Yoi Police Station in Phetchaburi Province. Ban Khai Police will coordinate with Khao Yoi Police to transfer the suspect back for interrogation and legal proceedings.

Initially, police are considering several motives for the killing, including gray-area business dealings, personal conflicts, local politics, and romantic issues, without ruling out any angle.

Reports indicate the gunman is Mr. Phisak, aged 45, from Phetchaburi Province, who holds a position as a Subdistrict Administrative Organization member in Khao Yoi district.

Police have charged the suspect with murder and transferred him to the investigators at Ban Khai Police Station in Rayong Province for further legal action.
