Teacher Arrested for Sexually Abusing Fourth-Grade Male Student Grandmother Shares Grandchilds Feelings

A grandmother reported to the Paveena Foundation before authorities arrested a male teacher for sexually abusing her grandson, a fourth-grade boy at a school near Nuanchan. The teacher allegedly forced the child to watch pornography and fondled his genitals to achieve sexual gratification in the teachers' room. Police found numerous pornographic clips at the suspect's home. The suspect was taken for questioning, confessed, and faces serious charges. A court hearing is scheduled for 19 Mar 2026 GMT+7.

At 17:00 on 18 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Mrs. Paveena Hongsakul, chairwoman of the Paveena Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women, accompanied grandmother and a 10-year-old boy, pseudonymously called "A," a fourth-grade student at an elementary school near Nuanchan, to meet with Pol. Col. Praphat Kaewchid, superintendent of Khok Kram Police Station, and investigators to provide additional testimony after police arrested the suspect, a 52-year-old male history teacher.

The case arose after the boy's grandmother complained to Mrs. Paveena Hongsakul that the male homeroom teacher regularly called the boy to the teachers' room during the day when no one else was there. The teacher would play pornographic videos, talk to the boy about sex, and forcibly remove the boy's pants to make him touch his genitals to achieve sexual gratification. This abuse continued for about a year until the boy could no longer endure it and told his grandmother, “I don't want to go to school anymore. I can't eat and feel like vomiting because I keep seeing those images.”

On 5 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the boy told his grandmother he was thinking of jumping into the water to end his life. Concerned, the grandmother asked what happened and then brought him to file a complaint and seek help from the Paveena Foundation.

The grandmother added that the boy also said another friend in a different classroom had been called by the same teacher, who hugged and kissed that friend on the cheek. The boy insisted the abuse happened as described and said, “If you don't believe me, you can check the teacher's notebook; there are many pornographic videos there.” The boy also said he used to enjoy school and did not want to miss classes and would like to return if this teacher was no longer there.

After receiving the complaint, Mrs. Paveena coordinated with Pol. Maj. Gen. Pallop Aermla, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, and Pol. Col. Praphat Kaewchid, superintendent of Khok Kram Police Station, assigning foundation officials, grandmother, and the boy to file a report and undergo multidisciplinary interviews. The 10-year-old boy provided clear testimony.

Today, Khok Kram police gathered evidence and obtained a search warrant to examine the teacher's home. They found many pornographic clips, leading to the suspect's arrest and interrogation. He was charged with sexually abusing a child under 13 years old and violating the Computer Crime Act by possessing obscene materials. The suspect will be prosecuted according to the law and is scheduled for a court detention hearing on 19 Mar 2026 GMT+7.

Mrs. Paveena said that recently there have been several cases of male students being sexually abused at schools and elsewhere. She coordinated with Pol. Maj. Gen. Pallop Aermla, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, and Pol. Col. Praphat Kaewchid, superintendent of Khok Kram Police Station, to ensure a swift arrest. She will also coordinate with the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection, Ministry of Justice, to secure compensation for the victims. Additionally, she will work with Governor Chadchart Sittipunt and Bangkok Permanent Secretary Narong Ruangsri to develop measures to prevent recurrence in schools. Meanwhile, the grandmother has transferred her grandson to a school under the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education. The Paveena Foundation will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Social Development to monitor ongoing assistance.
