Man Surrenders After Dragging Woman into Bathroom over Debt Viral Clips Reveal She Was Ex-Girlfriend, Not Debt Collection Gang

Police from Tha Kham Police Station's investigation unit have detained a violent ex-boyfriend who dragged a woman into a bathroom to coerce her, releasing viral clips online. The suspect has now surrendered. The police chief clarified that this is not related to any illegal debt collection gang.

A popular page previously exposed behavior of an illegal loan shark gang aggressively collecting debts at the workplace, pressuring debtors heavily, and dragging a woman into a bathroom to settle debts. Shared social media information described the gang’s harsh interest collection tactics, including coercion and psychological intimidation amounting to forced rape. Such incidents were reported multiple times, with other clips showing debtors being pursued at their workplaces.

At 3:00 PM on 18 March, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Pallop Aermla, Deputy Commissioner, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Samart Promchat, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 9, ordered Pol. Col. Wichayanon Ekta Saeng, Chief of Tha Kham Police, and his investigative team including Pol. Lt. Thanakorn Janrod, Pol. Lt. Kairik Sitthichot, Pol. Lt. Bancha Piyasaksakul, and Pol. Lt. Col. Phumiyot Pho Yen, to act.

Together with the Tha Kham investigation unit, they arrested Mr. Jiraphat, 28, under the Thonburi Criminal Court arrest warrant no. 324/2026, on charges of rape with violence, recording images or sounds, intimidation, and distributing obscene material accessible to the public after the suspect surrendered at Tha Kham Police Station.

The incident occurred after the victim stated she met and dated the suspect via a dating app and had lent him approximately 700,000 baht. After their breakup, on 10 June 2025, the suspect followed the victim, snatched her mobile phone, and forcibly took her to a bathroom near her residence. He physically assaulted and threatened her, using the debt as leverage to coerce her into sexual acts, which she reluctantly complied with out of fear for her safety.

On 13 March 2026, the victim was notified that multiple video clips of her had been circulated on various social media platforms. At least five clips were found; some recorded consensually during their relationship but not authorized for public release, and others filmed during the assault without her consent. The victim believes Mr. Jiraphat, her ex-boyfriend whose family runs a gold shop, recorded and possesses these clips.

Investigators have accepted the complaint and coordinated with the investigative unit to examine user accounts and distribution paths (IP/Account), preparing to request data from platform providers to track the suspect and seize electronic devices while expanding the investigation to others involved. On 18 March 2026, the Tha Kham Police obtained and executed the Thonburi Criminal Court arrest warrant no. 324/2026.

The investigation team continuously tracked the suspect until he surrendered to the authorities, unable to withstand the pressure. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the charges. He was then detained and handed over to the investigators for legal proceedings.

Pol. Col. Wichayanon stated the incident occurred after the victim filed a complaint, leading to the arrest warrant and subsequent surrender. He emphasized that this case is a personal matter between individuals and not related to any violent debt collection gangs.

However, during questioning, the suspect admitted to being the person in the arrest warrant and acknowledged filming the clips. Tha Kham Police plan to detain him for remand on 19 March 2026.
