Another suspect, Surasit, the special bodyguard to NACC Commissioner Aekwit and one of the accused in the 246-baht gold bribery case, surrendered to the anti-corruption police after learning an arrest warrant had been issued against him.

At 14:00 on 19 Mar 2026 at Division 1, Anti-Corruption and Misconduct Prevention Division, Surasit Paekerd, one of the suspects charged with jointly bribing a government official, arrived with his lawyer to surrender to Pol.Col. Phanumas Saengsong, Superintendent of Division 1, and investigators. This followed news that Sorapong had been issued an arrest warrant and had surrendered to the same police division the previous day.

Upon Surasit's appearance before the police at Division 1, the arrest warrant was executed, and he was informed of the charge of jointly bribing a government official. After recording the arrest and taking his statement, the investigators granted him temporary bail set at 105,000 baht, the same amount as Sorapong's bail.

Regarding Surasit's involvement, on 1 September 2024, Pol.Col. Phakphum delivered the gold to Commissioner Aekwit through Surasit, who is the special bodyguard, at the parking lot of the Southern Association in Ratchathewi district, Bangkok.
