
Urgent! Gunmen ambushed and opened fire on a vehicle. "Kamolsak Liwamo" Narathiwat MP from the Prachachart Party, late at night outside his residence in Bacho District, Narathiwat, after returning from a parliamentary session. Two individuals, an escort and the driver, were seriously injured.
At 01:09 on 20 March 2026, an unknown number of gunmen used a white four-door pickup truck of unknown make and license plate to ambush Kamolsak Liwamo, 59, Member of Parliament (MP) for District 5, Narathiwat, Prachachart Party, while he was riding in a black Toyota vehicle, modelAlphard.He was returning from Hat Yai airport.
The incident occurred in front of his residence on Phetkasem Road, Bacho Subdistrict, Bacho District, Narathiwat. Two people were injured: Uchlam Gola, 55,fromKayaomati Subdistrict, Bacho District, Narathiwat, the driver, and Police Sergeant Major Harirak Himmina, 43,from Bacho Subdistrict,Narathiwat Province. Both police escort and driver were seriously wounded by gunfire in multiple areas of their bodies.
After the attack, local residents nearby helped carry the two injured onto a pickup truck and rushed them to Bacho Hospital for emergency treatment.
Kamolsak Liwamo, who was seated in the back, lay down on the seat upon hearing the gunfire, narrowly avoiding being hit by the attackers' bullets.
The incident was recorded by CCTV cameras installed near Kamolsak's residence, which capturedthe behaviorof the gunmen. The CCTV footage shows that at01:09, the gunmen drove a white four-door pickup truck, overtook Kamolsak's vehicle, thenreversed and fired more than 10 rounds from automatic weapons at Kamolsak's car, where he and two others were riding. The gunmen then quickly fledin the vehicle,heading toward the route into Bacho District.
The two injured individuals, Uchlam Gola and Police Sergeant Major Harirak Himmina, who were transferred to Narathiwat Rajanagarindra Hospital, are now reported to be in stable condition.
