A six-wheel truck broke through a checkpoint and swerved, colliding witha patrol motorcycle.It lost control and crashed into a roadside electric pole in Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province, resulting in one police officer's death and another's injury before the truck took advantage of the chaos.chaosand fled the scene.

At 17:30 on 20 March 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Boonsert Kingkaset, the investigating officer at Lam Luk Ka Police Station, received a report of a patrol motorcycle accident involving a collision with an electric pole, resulting in casualties. The incident occurred on the Kanchanaphisek Outer Ring Road (Highway 9), near the Thanyaburi toll gate at kilometer 26, Village No. 13, Bueng Kham Phroi Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province. He and Police Major General Peeraphon Chotiksethien, Commander of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, and forensic officers promptly went to investigate.

At the scene, they found a severely damaged brown Honda CBR 300R patrol motorcycle, license plate shield number 31612, with scattered parts across the road. Nearby was the body of the deceased, identified as Police Sergeant Major Chaiwat Kongudom, 25, Head of the Crime Prevention Unit at Thanyaburi Police Station, who was the passenger. The injured driver was identified as Police Sergeant Major Kowit Jaiching, 40, from the same unit, who suffered abrasions and a puncture wound on his right leg. Rescue workers from Rom Sai brought him to CGH Sai Mai Hospital.

Police Major General Peeraphon Chotiksethien, Commander of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, stated that before the incident, the two officers were setting up a checkpoint under the Kanchanaphisek Outer Ring Road overpass in Bueng Yitho Subdistrict, Thanyaburi District, as part of a crime prevention plan. They noticed a suspicious six-wheel truck and signaled it to stop for inspection. However, the driver accelerated and fled onto the Kanchanaphisek Outer Ring Road. The officers pursued on motorcycles for over 5 kilometers before the patrol motorcycle lost control and crashed into an electric pole, causing the fatality and injury. The truck then escaped amid the ensuing chaos.

Initially, the Provincial Police Commander ordered investigation teams from Thanyaburi and Lam Luk Ka Police Stations to collaborate with forensic officers to collect detailed evidence, including reviewing CCTV footage along the escape route to determine whether the truck driver intentionally forced the officers into the accident. He confirmed that the authorities will pursue the suspect to the fullest extent of the law.

Subsequently, police reviewed nearby CCTV footage near the incident site and observed a white Isuzu passenger truck fleeing the checkpoint. The footage showed the truck swerving sharply to the right, causing the pursuing patrol motorcycle to lose control and crash into an electric pole, resulting in the death and injury of the officers involved.
