Police Arrest 40-Year-Old Drug-Addicted Father for Sexual Abuse of Daughter, Claims Unawareness Due to Drug Influence

The Narcotics Suppression Division of the Metropolitan Police arrested a 40-year-old drug-addicted father who fled across provinces after sexually abusing his biological daughter, harassing her, and posting threatening images on social media causing fear. He claimed his drug use triggered his emotions and that he was unaware of his actions.

On 21 March 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradech Thammasuthi, Deputy Commissioner, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Warasak Phisitbanakorn, Commander of Police District 1, Pol. Col. Worapot Rungkrajang, Deputy Commander of the Narcotics Suppression Division, Pol. Col. Nipon Nitikarnlert, Superintendent of Chanasongkram Police Station, and Pol. Lt. Thanypeerasit Junpipop, Investigator of Narcotics Suppression Division 3, to conduct an operation to arrest Mr. Chai (alias), 40, wanted under Criminal Court warrant no. 1410/2569 dated 10 March 2026, for rape of a descendant.

The arrest occurred at a construction camp near Phra Prang Sam Yod, Tha Hin Subdistrict, Mueang Lopburi District, Lopburi Province, at 14:30 on 20 March 2026. Investigation revealed behavior linked tothe cause, "drug addiction"which the suspect heavily abused, damaging his moral judgment and self-control, leading to continuous sexual abuse of his own daughter.

Once the Narcotics Suppression Division investigation team was informed, Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradech Thammasuthi ordered rapid tracking because the victim was traumatized due to the suspect's harassment and threatening social media posts. The team found the suspect hiding in Lopburi Province and arrested him. The suspect confessed to using methamphetamine and ice, which caused emotional arousal leading to the offense without awareness.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradech Thammasuthi, Deputy Commissioner and Police Spokesperson, warned society to stay vigilant, to help watch and report rather than conceal. He said this case serves as a warning that"danger may lurk in the places expected to be safest."Especially in families with risk factors such as drug abuse, it is important toobservechildren for abnormal fearfulness, unusual withdrawal, depression,

or noticeable emotional or physical changes. These may be warning signs and should be reported immediately to authorities or relevant agencies. Early awareness offers a chance to prevent harm.
