
A collision between a taxi and a motorcycle caused two fatalities in front of Prachanivet 1 Market within the local area.
At 00:20 on 24 March 2026, Police Lieutenant Noppadon Homsombat, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Pracha Chuen Police Station, received a report of a fatal traffic accident involving two deaths at Prachanivet 1 Market, Tesaban Songkhro Road, Lat Yao Subdistrict, Chatuchak District, Bangkok. He immediately went to the scene with forensic officers, a medical examiner from Phra Mongkutklao Hospital, and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation.
At the scene on the road, the bodies of an unidentified man and woman were found lying on their backs with head and facial injuries. The man wore a white short-sleeve t-shirt and gray long pants; the woman wore a light blue short-sleeve polo and blue denim shorts. Neither had any identification documents.
Nearby, a motorcycle with license plate 1 ฆผ 9765 Bangkok lay overturned; it belonged to one of the deceased. Also present was a green-yellow Toyota Corolla taxi with license plate 1 มข 8988 Bangkok, the other vehicle involved. The taxi's front right corner was severely damaged, and the rear bumper was detached.
Investigation revealed both vehicles were traveling at high speed and collided, resulting in the deaths of both the driver and passenger on the motorcycle.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the accident site and surrounding areas, interviewing the taxi driver, and sending the bodies to Phra Mongkutklao Hospital for autopsy. They are working to identify the deceased before coordinating with relatives for funeral arrangements.
