Following a shocking incident at 20:00 on 24 Mar 2026, investigative officers from Pak Kret Police Station, together with investigators from Thung Song Hong Police Station, searched along the canal road near the entrance to a well-known school to find parts of a Lao woman’s body. It was reported that around 17:30 on 24 Mar 2026, after receiving coordination from the Thung Song Hong investigative team, Nong Khai immigration officers began intelligence gathering and coordinated with local security agencies. They successfully arrested Mr. Tom, 26, a Lao national suspected of murdering and dismembering his 20-year-old Lao girlfriend, Miss Ram, placing the body parts into eight black bags and dumping them. The arrest took place in front of the Nong Khai border checkpoint while he was trying to escape back to Laos. He was taken to Nong Khai Immigration’s Investigation and Suppression Unit.
Preliminary questioning revealed that Mr. Tom had gone to Pattaya to fetch his girlfriend due to jealousy over her work as an entertainer in a nightlife venue.
Upon arriving at Mr. Tom’s residence in Bangkok, they argued. However, Mr. Tom still denies a brutal murder, stating only that his girlfriend stabbed herself to death. He then dismembered her body and placed the parts into eight black bags to dispose of them. Afterward, he continued his normal routine until about 08:00 the next morning, when he flew to Udon Thani Airport. He then contemplated how to flee back to his country until evening, when he arranged a motorcycle taxi via an app to take him to the Nong Khai border checkpoint, where immigration officers arrested him.
