There are 13 Special Police Experts at the rank equivalent to Police Lieutenant General and 45 Police Experts at the rank equivalent to Police Major General, all police officers scheduled to retire by the end of September 2026. It is expected that Police Lieutenant General Dr. Sophonrat Singhacharu, former chief medical officer of Police Hospital and deputy national police chief who played a key role in providing health information on Thaksin Shinawatra during his treatment on the 14th floor, and Police Lieutenant General Somprasong Yentuam, deputy national police chief, will be appointed as Special Police Advisors at the rank equivalent to Police General.
