Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyos Thepjumnong, Police Spokesperson, Opts for Early Retirement to Live as an Ordinary Thai Citizen

Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyos Thepjumnong, police spokesperson, has stepped down after a long career, expressing thanks to the media and preparing to live as an ordinary Thai citizen.

On 25 March 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyos Thepjumnong, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, announced that this day marks his last in the role after deciding to participate in the personnel adjustment program, or early retirement. His official service will end on 31 March 2025.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyos said that during his tenure as police spokesperson, first starting in the fiscal year October 2015, and continuing through his second term beginning 1 October 2018 until now, it has been an important period in his career representing the Royal Thai Police by communicating and coordinating with the media and society.

He acknowledged that during his service there may have been mistakes or shortcomings that occasionally caused discomfort for the media, and he apologized for any offense or misunderstandings. He emphasized that overall, the cooperation between the Royal Thai Police and the media, both crime and police news sectors, has been good and smooth.

"Throughout my work, collaborating with media colleagues was like 'tongue and teeth'—there were some flaws, but overall it went well. I feel at ease that there were no damaging or troubling issues in working with the media," Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyos said.

The police spokesperson added that after leaving his position and ending his police career, he will live as an ordinary Thai citizen. However, if the national police chief or former superiors see fit to request assistance on certain tasks in the future, he is willing to cooperate as a former commander and fellow alumnus of the 41st Police Cadet class.
