
Prime Minister Anutin assigned the Royal Thai Police Commissioner to chair the Police Commission meeting, appointing special advisors, distinguished experts, and experts to the Royal Thai Police totaling 60 individuals. Former Police General Hospital chief "Sophonrach" was appointed special advisor with the rank of Police General before retirement, as anticipated.
On 25 March 2026, Police Lieutenant General Yingyot Thepjumnong, Assistant Police Commissioner and Royal Thai Police spokesperson, revealed that at 10:00 a.m., Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul assigned Police General Kittirat Phanpetch, Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, to chair the 3rd Police Commission meeting of 2026. The meeting included Deputy Police Commissioners, the National Police Inspector General, Assistant Police Commissioners, Deputy Inspectors General, and Police Commission experts, held at the Sriyanon Conference Room, Building 1, Royal Thai Police Headquarters.
The meeting considered selecting and appointing two special advisors to the Royal Thai Police, 13 distinguished experts, and 45 experts, totaling 60 appointees.
There was an agenda to determine two positions: one Assistant Police Commissioner and one Commander to fill vacancies. The appointments followed the 2024 Police Commission regulations on police appointments. It was emphasized that specific individuals were not yet decided, but when vacancies arise for official benefit, the Police Commission approves proceeding with the selection and appointment process for these two positions.
The meeting also appointed two police officers following rulings from the Police Integrity Protection Committee (PIPC): Police Major General Lakkhana Sakdipaet as Deputy Commander of the Office of Internal Audit, effective retroactively from 4 February 2018 to 30 September 2025.
And Police Colonel Saiburin was appointed as Nurse (Grade 6), retroactive from 1 October 2025, in accordance with the PIPC rulings responding to their fairness appeals.
Police Lieutenant General Dr. Sophonrach Singhajarur, former Police General Hospital chief and Assistant Police Commissioner—who played a key role providing information on former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s health during his treatment on the 14th floor—along with Police Lieutenant General Somprasong Yentuam, Assistant Police Commissioner, were named special advisors to the Royal Thai Police with ranks equivalent to Police General.
The 13 distinguished experts appointed include Police Major General Worawat Amornwiwat, Deputy Commander of the Special Operations Division; Police Major General Thammasak Pintong, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Police Region 6;
Police Major General Pitak Thumkred, Deputy Commander of the Central Investigation Bureau; Police Major General Weerapol Charoensiri, Deputy Commander of the Crime Suppression Division; Police Major General Noppadol Krungkrai, Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 5; Police Major General Ukrit Srisuakham, Deputy Commander of the Mounted Police Division; Police Major General Narin Busaman, Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 9; Police Major General Piti Nitinontseth, Deputy Commander of the Immigration Bureau; Police Major General Archan Jansiri, Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 9; Police Major General Thammanoon Prayunyong, Deputy Commander of the Special Branch; Police Major General Kasemsanti Yusuksomboon, Deputy Commander of the Special Branch; Police Major General Weerawit Buaprasertying, Deputy Inspector General; and Police Major General Pipat Chummaneekul, Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 7.
