Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpan, Deputy National Police Inspector, inspected the foreign detainee facility at the Immigration Office on Suan Phlu Alley. He found no VIP detention rooms and stressed strict data collection to prevent corruption and misconduct during operations. This was emphasized as part of upholding police ideals.
On 26 Mar 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpan, Deputy National Police Inspector and Deputy Spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, revealed he was assigned by Pol. Gen. Itthipol Atchariyapradit, National Police Inspector General, to conduct inspections under the plan of the Office of the National Police Inspector General for fiscal year 2026 at the foreign detainee center located at Division 3, Investigation Bureau, Immigration Office on Suan Phlu Alley, Thung Maha Mek Subdistrict, Sathorn District, Bangkok.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong stated that on 25 Mar 2026, he visited the foreign detainee center at the Immigration Office. Three detention buildings were undergoing repairs, each closed one at a time, with two buildings operational. A detailed inspection found no VIP detention rooms as had been alleged. Officials from various embassies, including the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Cambodia, visited detainees. When detainees of a certain nationality are held, Immigration Police notify that country’s embassy, and embassy officials arrange visits according to established rules.
Additionally, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong ordered new regulations requiring other agencies that arrest foreign nationals and detain them in police stations to report detainee numbers and details to the Immigration Office. This is to consolidate information and prevent corruption or unauthorized release without returning detainees to immigration authorities.
He also urged police officers under Division 3, Investigation Bureau, Immigration Office, to perform their duties diligently and carefully, adhering to police ethics and professional conduct. Officers must uphold police ideals, serve the public sincerely, promptly, and fairly with a citizen-centered approach. Strict compliance with the Police Chief’s policy “1 Commitment, 6 Acceleration, 9 Progress” was emphasized.
