Police Force Opens Major Appointments in Investigation Division, Marks Key Restructuring

The Royal Thai Police Chief is pushing forward a major shake-up in the investigation division, opening up large-scale transfers and appointments. The focus is on voluntary participation, seniority, transparency, and clarity, aiming to complete the process by April.

On 27 March 2026 at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, reporters learned that Police General Kittirat Phanphet, the Royal Thai Police Chief, signed an order outlining a major appointment plan for officers in the investigation division. This covers positions from Superintendent down to Deputy Inspector, allowing officers to voluntarily apply for these posts within the division.

This appointment initiative prioritizes knowledge, capability, and seniority. Committees will be established at every level to ensure transparency and fairness throughout the process.

It was summarized that all units must open applications for interested candidates, compile candidate lists, and submit information via a system (QR Code/file). These will be consolidated centrally with a strict timeline to submit data and finalize candidate lists by April 2026, ensuring appointments are completed as scheduled.

Reporters also noted that if vacancies remain after the first round, additional adjustments will be made based on seniority and suitability. The Police Chief has instructed all units to strictly adhere to the criteria and carefully verify qualifications to ensure that appointments match the right individuals to the right roles as closely as possible.
