The case involves Ms. Myo, 34, a Myanmar national, who strangled her 7-year-old biological daughter to death at a residence in the jurisdiction of Min Buri Police Station, Bangkok, on 1 Apr 2026.
Latest developments: This afternoon (2 Apr), Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya Kunjakorn, investigation officer of Metropolitan Police Division 3, along with Police Lieutenant Colonel Prabda Suksunthree, chief of Pattaya Tourist Police Division 4, led officers from Metropolitan Police Division 3 and Pattaya Tourist Police to arrest Ms. Myo, 34, Myanmar nationality. She was wanted under an arrest warrant from Min Buri Criminal Court, case number 578/2569, on charges of intentional homicide. She killed her daughter by strangulation. Police apprehended her at a hotel room on Koh Larn, Moo 7, Na Kluea Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.
After arrest, Ms. Myo confessed through an interpreter that she did strangle her daughter to death. Around 2 p.m. on 1 Apr 2026, she was under severe stress due to life problems and had a sudden suicidal impulse, intending to take her daughter's life along with her own. She killed her daughter first but lost the courage to kill herself, then left her daughter's body in the room and fled to Koh Larn, Pattaya, Chonburi Province, where police later arrested her.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya Kunjakorn revealed that the suspect admitted all charges and claimed to suffer from depression with ongoing life difficulties. She had recently worked in Brunei and returned to see her daughter a few days ago. Due to accumulated stress, she decided to attempt suicide along with her daughter by strangling her daughter to death. When it came to her own life, she changed her mind and fled to Chonburi Province. Authorities will continue to question her at Min Buri Police Station to clarify the motives behind this brutal killing.
