Two Charges Filed Against English Teacher for Sexual Abuse and Assault of Male Student Case Progress Confirmed

The Superintendent of Buriram City Police Station disclosed that two charges have been filed in the case of an English teacher sexually abusing and slapping a male student. He affirmed that the case is not delayed, as additional witnesses are being interviewed, and the case file is expected to be submitted soon.

On 2 Apr 2025 GMT+7, it was reported that Ms. B (alias), 35, brought her younger brother Mr. M (alias), 20, to seek justice from the Buriram Provincial Police Commander after filing a complaint with Buriram City Police Station in October 2025. The complaint involved an English teacher at a well-known school in Buriram Province accused of sexual abuse.

Ms. B (alias) recounted that about three years ago, when her brother was in 11th grade, aged 17, he was deceived and sexually abused by the 45-year-old English teacher. Since then, the teacher has maintained contact, offering financial support, covering educational expenses, providing equipment, and even taking care of his mobile phone.

According to Mr. M (alias), after continuing the relationship through university, the teacher exercised power to control and abuse him, exhibiting jealousy and frequently ordering him to move dormitories. The last incident involved Mr. M breaking his arm during a dorm move after an argument. They later fought again in the hospital, but the teacher filed a complaint accusing Mr. M of assault, as did Mr. M and his family in a related case.

Since filing the complaint at Buriram City Police Station in October 2025, the case has seen little progress. Meanwhile, the teacher has continually threatened Mr. M, causing him to become depressed and self-harm whenever threatened.

Ms. B further explained that Mr. M’s family feels justice has not been served, as the teacher began abusing him at age 17 and imposed a form of confinement and control. They are pursuing the assault case and have also petitioned the teacher’s employer for disciplinary action. If the sexual abuse charges are proven, the family aims to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Meanwhile, Police Colonel Jamras Siriliang, Superintendent of Buriram City Police Station, personally met with the authorized representative and victim, explaining that investigators are not neglecting the case. They have conducted witness interviews and gathered evidence, including both testimonial and documentary proof, following due process.

The Superintendent confirmed that the investigation is not delayed. Although the alleged incidents date back to 2023, the complaint was filed in October 2025 by the victim’s legal representative. Since then, police have questioned the victim and accused, collected witness statements and documents, and have already charged the accused teacher with two offenses: “Abduction of a minor, and coercion to act or refrain from acting.”

Initially, the accused teacher denies the charges and has named several additional witnesses. Investigators must interview these witnesses as part of the ongoing inquiry. Currently, witness questioning is underway to compile the case file. Afterwards, evidence will be consolidated and the file submitted to the prosecutor. The police are working meticulously and carefully to ensure justice for all parties involved.
