Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpan, police spokesman, confirms strong evidence as the Attorney General orders prosecution of MP Chonnapat in money laundering and online gambling case.
On 8 Apr 2026 GMT+7 at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpan, Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police and spokesman, addressed the Attorney General's decision to prosecute Mr. Chonnapat Naksua, Songkhla MP from the Kla Tham Party, and associates in cases involving Songkhla City Police and Hat Yai Police Station on charges of money laundering and organizing online gambling. He stated that following the Attorney General's additional investigation prompted by objections from Provincial Police Region 9, a final decision was made to prosecute both the money laundering case at Songkhla City Police and the conspiracy to organize online gambling at Hat Yai Police.
"The facts and evidence, as consistently affirmed by the arresting police officers, have been thoroughly tested through the judicial process. This case has undergone multiple layers of scrutiny, including investigations and prosecutorial review, even after objections from Provincial Police Region 9, culminating in the Attorney General's final decision. This demonstrates that ultimately, the facts and the justice system have functioned properly in accordance with the evidence," said the Royal Thai Police spokesman.
