Chinese Online Gambling Kingpin of Chwe Kok Ko Network Arrested with Over 13 Billion Baht in Turnover

Crime Suppression Division police arrested a Chinese online gambling kingpin involved in the network"Chwe Kok Ko"The suspect, wanted under a Chinese arrest warrant, was hiding in Pattaya. Authorities found over 13 billion baht in turnover and will send him back for prosecution.

On 9 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Police Colonel Nopparat Khammak, patrol division chief at the Crime Suppression Division, together with Police Lieutenant Colonel Pongpit Trinikom, patrol unit supervisor, and officers from the Immigration Police Investigation Division, arrested Mr. Bei Minxi, a Chinese national wanted by the People's Republic of China, in front of a residence inside Soi Jomtien 14, Pattaya City, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, after his residency rights in Thailand were revoked.

Investigation revealed that Mr. Bei Minxi was a key figure operating online gambling through over 239 platforms, with more than 330,000 members participating across 31 provinces in China. The illegal operation generated a turnover of 2,775 billion yuan, approximately 13.18 billion baht, constituting a severe crime that heavily impacted China's economy and society.

Further in-depth information showed that the suspect is linked to a transnational criminal organization behind the "Chwe Kok Ko" new city empire in Myanmar, acting as the leader. Together, they established cross-border gambling bases since 2016, illegally profiting at least 2.4 billion baht.

Travel records showed identity concealment: on 26 May 2024 GMT+7, the suspect left Thailand for Vientiane using a Chinese passport, then secretly re-entered Thailand on 15 Aug 2025 GMT+7 using a passport from St. Kitts and Nevis to deceive authorities. However, facial recognition checks confirmed it was the same person.

Initially, authorities detained the suspect and sent him to Division 3, Immigration Police Investigation Division (Suan Plu) for legal proceedings. They are awaiting certification from the Chinese Embassy before coordinating his extradition to face charges under the warrant issued last year by the Zhenjiang Metropolitan Police.
