Police Sub-Lieutenant arrested at his home in Sakon Nakhon along with his family, with 16,000 methamphetamine pills seized; the suspect is also a kidney patient requiring dialysis.

On 11 April 2026, at a house in Ban Lao, Lao Phon Kho Subdistrict, Khok Si Suphan District, Sakon Nakhon Province, Mrs. Ronida Luangthitiskul, Governor of Sakon Nakhon, together with Pol. Col. Jirarot Rojphanuphat, Deputy Commander of Sakon Nakhon Provincial Police, Mr. Wichan Itthirukmongkol, District Chief of Mueang Sakon Nakhon, Pol. Col. Suraphon Paraka, Superintendent of Khok Si Suphan Police Station, Mr. Kritikhun Kaewkhunnok, Sakon Nakhon Provincial Prevention Officer, Pol. Col. Asawin Butrawong, Head of the Drug Suppression Center of the 3rd Infantry Regiment, along with administrative officials, volunteer defense forces, military, and provincial police, jointly held a press conference on the arrest of a 54-year-old Police Sub-Lieutenant, his 57-year-old wife who is an assistant nurse at a hospital, and their 19-year-old son.

This follows the arrest on 6 April 2026 of a man named Mad with 799 methamphetamine pills. Mad confessed and implicated the police officer. Authorities then contacted the officer using the suspect’s mobile phone and arranged a drug handover for the morning of the arrest day.

Officials confirmed that the police officer’s house was likely storing drugs. Using authority under the Office of the Narcotics Control Board, they searched the property and found about 12,000 methamphetamine pills in a box beside the bedroom. A vehicle search uncovered approximately 4,000 more pills, totaling 16,000. They also seized two cars and other assets for further examination.

Additionally, officials found that the police officer is a kidney patient who requires dialysis at the hospital; he was taken for dialysis before being detained.

The Governor of Sakon Nakhon emphasized that this action results from proactive work by administrative officials focusing on thorough, continuous investigation and expansion, without exceptions for any offenders regardless of their status. He affirmed strict drug suppression efforts to ensure safety for the public and society. The suspects and seized evidence were handed to investigators for legal proceedings.
