Crime Suppression Division Detains Atchariya for Remand, Opposes Bail in 2.5 Million Baht Extortion Case of Immigration Police Chief

The Crime Suppression Division escorted Atchariya and his associates, accused of extorting the Immigration Detention Room chief, to the court for remand. Reporters waited in vain as they were led out through the rear parking building.

At 08:15 on 22 April 2026, reporters reported that investigators from Division 1 of the Crime Suppression Division brought Atchariya Ruangrattanapong, chairman of the Crime Victims Assistance Club, along with accomplices involved in extorting the Immigration Detention Room chief, to the Criminal Court for a remand hearing.

It was reported that since 08:00, Crime Suppression Division officers had parked a van at the entrance of the building and placed metal barriers, preparing to bring the suspects to court as in previous occasions. This led many news agencies to set up cameras to cover the event. However, officers later informed that Atchariya and his group had already been taken to the Criminal Court. They were escorted out of the Crime Suppression Division building and boarded a vehicle waiting at the rear parking building.
