A biological father was arrested after fatally striking his son's head with an axe in a rubber plantation. He confessed, claiming resentment due to multiple prior assaults by his son. A former village headman suggested the cause may have been disputes involving the new stepmother.
In the case of Mr. Phasakorn, 40, who was attacked with an axe resulting in severe head injuries and fatal brain damage at a hut in a rubber plantation behind a house in Village No. 3, Na Pho Subdistrict, Thung Song District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, his body was found on the morning of 22 Apr 2026. Initially, police suspected someone close to him as the perpetrator.
Shortly after the incident, at midday on the same day (22 Apr), police investigators from Thung Song Police Station, led by Pol. Col. Somporn Nitiphak, the station chief, detained Mr. Nob, 61, the victim's biological father, for intense questioning. Police suspected him due to several suspicious factors, including a trail of blood drops leading from the crime scene at the hut to his nearby residence.
Eventually, Mr. Nob confessed fully to the charge, admitting he killed his son. He said he was upset because the son had assaulted him multiple times, leading to accumulating resentment. Unable to endure it any longer, he took advantage of the moment when his son was asleep in the hut in the rubber plantation around 11:00 p.m. on 21 Apr. He quietly approached and struck his son’s head twice with an axe, causing instant death. He then carried the bloodied axe into his home, disposed of it in a nearby pond, and feigned ignorance until police arrived the next morning. Suspicion led police to detain and interrogate him until he confessed. Police have since taken him into custody to search for the axe and will proceed with a crime reenactment based on his confession.
Mr. Thanaphon Tungsing, 60, a former village headman of Village No. 3, Na Pho Subdistrict, Thung Song District, revealed that Mr. Phasakorn, the deceased, was generally well-behaved and diligent, especially known for carrying rubber logs in the village. He was well-liked by neighbors and relatives. However, recently, the victim had frequent arguments with his father about disputes involving his new stepmother. Mr. Nob sided with his new wife, which may have caused dissatisfaction with his son, who had issues with the stepmother. This tension likely led Mr. Nob to secretly attack and fatally strike his son’s head at the hut in the rubber plantation behind their home.
