Police tracked and arrested a man who stabbed his own father to death in Samut Sakhon. Initially, he gave incoherent statements, claiming he was denied money to buy more liquor and was frequently scolded. He was also found to have consumed one methamphetamine pill.
In this case, Mr. Kritsada, 44, used a knife to fatally stab his father, Mr. Duan, 69, inside their home in Om Noi Subdistrict, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province. He then fled on a motorcycle. The suspect's mother said her son has mental health issues and had previously used drugs but had stopped nearly 10 years ago. Recently, he developed an alcohol addiction, and when intoxicated, would threaten family members and sometimes threaten to burn the house. He often quarreled regularly with his father, as previously reported.
In the latest update, news teams reviewed CCTV footage showing the suspect riding a motorcycle out of the village, turning left toward a canal-side road where there are few houses.
Later, CCTV footage from Soi Setthakit 1 Soi 3/1 captured the suspect’s motorcycle entering the alley at high speed. This route leads to the main road, Setthakit 1 Road, but the suspect did not continue onto the main road.
At 15:50, the suspect was seen entering a shop inside the alley wearing the same bloodstained T-shirt. He asked to buy drinking water. The shopkeeper immediately realized he had just stabbed someone. As the suspect left, customers in the shop quickly called the police.
Police from Krathum Baen Station tracked and arrested the suspect about 500 meters from the shop, then took him into custody for further questioning. When reporters asked if he remembered the incident, the suspect said he recalled everything and that the reason was because his father often scolded him.
Preliminary police investigations found the suspect’s statements incoherent. He claimed he asked his father for money to buy more liquor but was refused, leading him to attack with a weapon. He had also taken one methamphetamine pill. Authorities will continue investigating the real cause and proceed with legal action.
