Court Grants Bail to Ajariya with 400,000 Baht Bond, Conditions Prohibit Interfering with Evidence

Urgent! The court has approved the temporary release of “Ajariya” on a bail of 400,000 baht, with conditions forbidding interference with evidence or any actions that might obstruct or cause damage to the investigation.

On 22 April 2026 at the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road, Police Lieutenant Colonel Pramot Suksripaisan, an investigator from the Crime Suppression Division, brought Police Colonel Kawinsak Peeryasthanan, Ms. Wipada, and Mr. Ajariya Ruangrattanapong—the first to third suspects—on charges of jointly coercing others to act or refrain from acting under fear of harm to their freedom or reputation, and extortion, to request the court to detain them for the first time for 12 days.

The investigation is still ongoing, as the authorities are waiting to interview 15 more witnesses, await forensic examination results of the evidence, and await fingerprint and criminal record checks for the first to third suspects.

The investigators opposed bail, citing the case's high public and media interest. The suspects are alleged to be part of a group that collectively committed offenses by intimidating and extorting money from police officers, lawyers, and justice system personnel, actions that undermine confidence in law enforcement and damage the justice system's image.

The latest update: reporters stated the court has ordered bail for Mr. Ajariya Ruangrattanapong, setting the bail amount at 400,000 baht with conditions prohibiting him from interfering with evidence or doing anything that would obstruct or harm the investigation. He is also barred from meeting, approaching, intimidating, involving himself with, or acting against the victims or witnesses in this or similar cases. Otherwise, the court will consider revoking the bail.

As for the other two suspects, Police Colonel Kawinsak was granted bail at 200,000 baht, and Ms. Wipada at 100,000 baht, both under the same conditions.
