The lawyer from Wat Napapong submitted evidence from a German court ruling indicating that 12.2 million baht was embezzled and not transferred into the personal account of Phra Ajarn Khukrit.
At 10:00 a.m. today, 23 April 2026 GMT+7, at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, Mr. Nantanon Inthanon, lawyer for Wat Napapong, submitted a letter clarifying additional facts to Pol. Maj. Gen. Jaroonkiat Pankaew regarding allegations that 12,200,000 baht had been transferred to a lay follower in Germany.
Mr. Nantanon stated that he had previously explained the amount was transferred to establish the “Buddhavachana Foundation Germany” and was not deposited into the personal account of Phra Ajarn Khukrit in any way.
However, investigations found that the lay follower assigned to establish the foundation did not fully deposit the funds into the foundation's account and also withdrew expenses unrelated to the foundation’s objectives.
Subsequently, Wat Napapong and Phra Ajarn Khukrit filed both civil and criminal lawsuits against the lay follower in German courts. On 21 April 2026 GMT+7, the German court ruled that the lay follower and associates must repay over 200,000 euros, approximately 8 million baht.
The lawyer confirmed that the ruling clearly shows the money was used for the lay follower’s personal benefit, not deposited into Phra Ajarn Khukrit’s personal account nor misused as alleged. The criminal case is still under consideration by the German court.
Mr. Nantanon also submitted the German court’s judgment documents to Pol. Maj. Gen. Jaroonkiat for use in case review and to seek justice for Wat Napapong and Phra Ajarn Khukrit.
