Big Joke Meets with Crime Suppression Police to Acknowledge Charges in Assault Case Involving Former Close Subordinates

"Big Joke" met with investigators at the Crime Suppression Division to acknowledge charges under a summons, avoiding media questions and stating he came to file a complaint against subordinates. His lawyer clarified that the visit was in response to an existing summons in a case filed by former subordinates.

At 11:00 a.m. on 24 April 2026, at the Crime Suppression Division's reporting center, Police General Surachate Hakparn, known as "Big Joke," former Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, along with lawyer Mr. Sanyaphat Samart, arrived to meet investigators from Division 1, Crime Suppression Bureau, to acknowledge assault charges involving Police Lieutenant Colonel Krit Priyaket and Police Colonel Aris Kuprasitrat under the summons.

The investigators questioned Police General Surachate for about two hours. He denied the charges. The investigators then took his fingerprints before he left the premises.

Reporters noted that upon Police General Surachate's arrival at the Crime Suppression Division's reporting building, they awaited to cover the story but were refused comment. He briefly said, “Don’t do this, I came to file a complaint against my subordinates.” He then proceeded directly to meet the investigators.

Later, before leaving, he continued to avoid media interviews, stating only, “I have finished filing the complaint.” When asked how many subordinates he filed complaints against, who they were, and whether it related to the previous case, Big Joke replied, “Not yet, I will ask my lawyer,” declining to provide further details.

Meanwhile, lawyer Mr. Sanyaphat explained that this visit was to meet investigators as per the summons regarding the case filed by former subordinates, Police Lieutenant Colonel Krit and Police Colonel Aris, accusing him of assault. Today’s meeting was solely to follow the legal process.
