Police Spokesperson Awards “Thumbs Up Spokesperson” to Sgt. Supamit of Phrom Buri Police for Enduring Provocation Until Stroke

The National Police spokesperson awarded the “Thumbs Up Spokesperson” to Sgt. Supamit Puangprasert, Traffic Division Chief at Phrom Buri Police Station, Sing Buri Province, for his patience and restraint against provocations from a page admin, standing firm in his duties until he suffered a stroke. The Police Chief emphasized the importance of providing the best medical treatment and welfare for him.

On 28 April 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpan, Deputy Inspector General of the Royal Thai Police and spokesperson of the National Police Office, revealed that the police spokesperson team awarded the “Thumbs Up Spokesperson” to Sgt. Supamit Puangprasert, the Traffic Division Chief at Phrom Buri Police Station in Sing Buri Province. He diligently enforced traffic laws concerning speeding to reduce accidents, enduring emotional distress and pressure until suffering a cerebral hemorrhage or stroke caused by a page admin’s live-stream pressuring his duty in March 2025.

The National Police spokesperson stated that Sgt. Supamit performed his duties according to police ideals, particularly the principle to “endure emotional pain and remain unfazed by difficulties.” While working in extreme heat, a hostile individual recorded and live-streamed provocations against him for an extended period. Sgt. Supamit exercised patience and restraint, continuing his duties without retaliation and carrying out his responsibilities properly and straightforwardly. The pressure caused stress that led to a stroke, causing him to collapse. He is currently still undergoing treatment and suffers weakness on his right side.

Due to Sgt. Supamit’s dedication, endurance, and unwavering commitment to his duties, the National Police spokesperson decided to present him with the “Thumbs Up Spokesperson” award. This case is a true event shared on social media, showing the real challenges police face under various pressures while performing their duties correctly and thoroughly. It reflects positively on the National Police Office, demonstrating officers’ integrity, patience, and adherence to police ideals.

Regarding legal action against those responsible, investigators at Phrom Buri Police Station have charged involved individuals with multiple offenses, such as jointly assaulting an official performing duties causing serious injury, and obstruction of officials by three or more persons. The case is currently under prosecutor review, with assurances that the investigation follows evidence and ensures fairness to all parties.

Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, sent encouragement for Sgt. Supamit’s duties and emphasized the importance of providing the best medical care and welfare for him.
