Police Detain Two Gunmen in Wedding Shootout Injuring Six After Court Issues Arrest Warrants

Police arrested two gunmen involved in a shootout at a wedding in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, which resulted in six guests being injured, following the issuance of arrest warrants by the court.

The gunfight occurred at 3:00 a.m. on 28 Apr 2026 in Moklan Subdistrict, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat, causing six people to be injured by stray bullets. Among them, Mr. Jakkrit, 24, was shot in the head and is in critical condition. The other five sustained minor wounds to their arms and legs and were taken to Tha Sala Hospital, Maharaj Hospital, and Nakhon Phat Hospital.

This morning (28 Apr 2026), forensic police from Nakhon Si Thammarat visited the wedding shooting scene to collect various evidence for the case and to aid in the suspects' arrest. The forensic team gathered numerous pieces of evidence for legal proceedings and conducted a crime scene reenactment, including photographing and documenting the location.

The six injured individuals received treatment at different hospitals: Tha Sala Hospital, Maharaj Hospital, and Nakhon Phat Hospital. They are: 1. Mr. Thanakorn, 31, shot in the left thigh; 2. Mr. Adison, 17, shot in the left shoulder; 3. Mr. Jakkritorn, 23, shot in the right ankle; 4. Mr. Jakkrit, 24, critically wounded in the head and later transferred to Maharaj Hospital; 5. Mr. Amorntep, 24, shot in both legs and sent to Maharaj Hospital; 6. Mr. Supachet, 40, shot in the arm and treated at Nakhon Phat Hospital.

Police investigations by the Tha Sala police detective team revealed that before the incident, Mr. Amorntep, 24, had an altercation and fistfight with Mr. Krisakorn, the groom's younger brother. Then, Mr. Supachet, a wedding guest, intervened but drew a gun and shot Mr. Amorntep in both legs. In response, Mr. Amorntep fired back, injuring Mr. Supachet's arm.

Following this, Mr. Amorntep and Mr. Supachet exchanged gunfire, firing dozens of shots at each other. Stray bullets hit other wedding guests, including Mr. Thanakorn, Mr. Adison, Mr. Jakkritorn, and Mr. Jakkrit, causing their injuries.

Later in the evening, after the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Court approved arrest warrants for the two suspects involved in the wedding shooting, the Tha Sala police investigation team, led by Deputy Superintendent Winai Rattanachit, traveled to the Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat police station to detain Mr. Amorntep on charges of attempted murder and violations of the Firearms Act.

The Tha Sala police investigation team then took Mr. Amorntep from the Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat police station detention room and immediately transferred him to the Tha Sala police station, the scene of the incident, for legal proceedings.

Reporters tried to question Mr. Amorntep about the incident and its causes, but he remained silent and did not respond before being taken away in a Tha Sala police vehicle. Meanwhile, the other suspect, Mr. Supachet, 40, who also has an arrest warrant issued by the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Court on the same charges, was detained by another police team at Nakhon Phat Hospital. Both suspects are to be interrogated and prosecuted according to the law.
