Prime Minister "Anutin" chaired the 4th Police Commission meeting of 2026 to discuss out-of-schedule police appointments and to push for revisions of the appointment criteria for investigative police officers.

At 09:18 on 30 April 2026, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and chairman of the Police Commission (PC), presided over the 4th PC meeting of 2026 at the Sriyanont Conference Room, Building 1, 2nd Floor, Royal Thai Police Headquarters. The notable agenda for this meeting was item 4, which included three issues proposed for consideration as follows.

Issue 1: Revising the criteria and methods for assessing knowledge and ability to be used in appointing investigative police officers who hold dual positions and can adjust their own ranks up or down, allowing them to be promoted to higher positions under the National Police Act of 2022.

Issue 2: Out-of-schedule annual appointments of police officers, which involve considering personnel in special cases beyond the regular cycle to align with the mission and needs of the agency.

Issue 3: The selection and appointment of non-commissioned police officers to be promoted to commissioned officer ranks in special cases as determined by the Police Commission.
