At approximately 02:30 on 30 April 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Thasana Udomporn, an investigator at Khlong Luang Police Station, received a report of a traffic accident where a car collided with a motorcycle, resulting in a fatality in front of a condominium on Bang Khun-Non Suea Road, Khlong Nueng Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province. Authorities from traffic police, forensic doctors from Thammasat University Hospital, and volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation promptly responded to the scene.

At the scene, the deceased was identified as Mr. Alongkorn Bangkra, 27, a delivery rider wearing a food service uniform, found dead by the roadside. About 10 meters away stood a gray motorcycle without a license plate, its rear severely damaged from the collision. Nearby was a gray BMW private car, license plate 3 กข 530 Bangkok, with heavy damage to the left front side and shattered windshield. Mr. Phumin, 22, the driver of the BMW, was present, awaiting questioning by police.

Mr. Nattakit, 23, a friend of the deceased, recounted that they had just left a restaurant and were riding motorcycles to make a U-turn, with the deceased leading. Suddenly, the BMW overtook their vehicle and violently struck the rear of the deceased's motorcycle.

Mr. Phumin, the BMW driver, declined to provide details at the scene, stating he would give a statement directly to police. He was subsequently taken to Khlong Luang Police Station for further questioning.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Thasana Udomporn reported that after documenting the scene and taking photos as evidence, he assigned Poh Teck Tung Foundation staff to transport the deceased's body for a detailed autopsy at the Forensic Institute of Thammasat University Hospital.

This incident attracted significant attention after a video from the scene circulated online, showing the driver's friends prioritizing the damaged car over human life, including the striking phrase "My car is also damaged," which angered many witnesses.

Recently, the Facebook pageStudent Committee of the Faculty of Learning Sciences and Education, Thammasat Universityposted a message expressing deep condolences over the loss caused by drunk driving, referring to the incident on 30 April 2026 near Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus.

They described the event as a heartbreaking loss for the deceased's family and noted its impact on the sense of safety within the university community. The committee offered condolences to the family and support to all affected by the incident.

The Student Committee reaffirmed their firm opposition to all forms of drunk driving and called on all sectors to recognize their social responsibility, respect the law, and prioritize the safety of others on the road.

They expressed hope that this incident would serve as an important lesson, raising widespread awareness and jointly preventing similar occurrences in the future.
