Tone Bangkae has appealed to the Attorney General to verify whether “Prosecutor Mam” is truly a prosecutor and whether she used official working hours to settle debts. He believes rumors of an arrest warrant may have been spread to discredit him.
At 2:00 p.m. on 5 May 2026, at the Central Administration Office of the Office of the Attorney General in Government Complex Building A, Mr. Tonthong Sukkhaen, known as Tone Bangkae, accompanied by his personal lawyer Mr. Chalermchai Sriyuphak, submitted a letter to the Attorney General requesting an investigation into whether a prosecutor named “Mam” is a genuine prosecutor, in connection with her involvement in debt settlement negotiations with creditors.
Tone Bangkae stated that there was a female prosecutor named “Mam” present on the 27th floor during the debt negotiation meeting. He came to request verification of whether she is an actual prosecutor and, if so, whether it is proper for her to collect debts during official working hours.
Tone Bangkae added that the details are included in the investigation files. He had provided information to investigators at Phahonyothin Police Station over three and a half hours and gave full details. He was under pressure and anxious during the situation where she claimed to be a prosecutor but did not show any identification. Based on her respectable attire, he was unsure of her authenticity and therefore requested an investigation today. He had met this prosecutor twice—once at his office and again on the 27th floor during a creditor meeting. He is confident there is photographic evidence from his office submitted to authorities.
Tone Bangkae said he is currently avoiding social media due to his unsettled mental state and attacks he has faced, which cause him distress. He believes that with such incidents, he can prove he has fulfilled his agreements with creditors, even paying in advance. After the incident, he still respects “Pong Suphan” as an elder who confirmed he was asked to talk to ‘her.’ He wanted to explain the origin of the debt but did not expect the meeting would include creditors and opposing parties for mediation that day. He insisted he did not fabricate any stories; everything is true. Being threatened by two government officials has already caused him significant pressure.
Tone Bangkae said he is unaware of any arrest warrant against him; such rumors might be spread to discredit him. Personally, he has no conflict or issues with anyone, and no one is behind him. He does not want to ruin the reputation he has built in the Buddhist community over more than 30 years, only seeking to defend his rights.
Mr. Chalermchai Sriyuphak, the lawyer, said today he wants verification whether the person named “Prosecutor Mam” is a genuine prosecutor. That is the only issue. Also, whether she used official working hours to handle debt settlements. If she is not genuine, authorities should proceed according to the complaint filed at Phahonyothin Police Station.
