A 35-year-old wife swallowed four methamphetamine pills after being arrested with her husband, hoping to avoid charges. She developed nausea and vomiting and had to be urgently taken to the hospital.
On 6 May 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that Ms. Mint, aged 35, swallowed four of the five methamphetamine pills found during her arrest with her husband. After swallowing the pills to avoid charges, she experienced nausea and vomiting. Authorities quickly transported her to Sadao Hospital for thorough medical examination to ensure her safety.
This incident occurred after Police Sub-Lieutenant Arunothai Chuklin, head of the narcotics suppression team of Border Patrol Police Company 437, arrested Mr. Bank, aged 33, and Ms. Mint, aged 35, who are husband and wife.
The couple was stopped while driving a pickup truck on a road in Ban Rai Tok, Village No. 6, Samnak Kham Subdistrict, Sadao District, Songkhla Province. Officers had been monitoring their activities for some time, suspecting involvement in drugs and firearm use, and planned the arrest accordingly.
A search of their vehicle uncovered 0.7 grams of crystal meth, five methamphetamine pills, and drug paraphernalia. During the arrest, Ms. Mint swallowed four pills, leaving only one pill on the ground nearby in an attempt to evade charges. Officers then took the husband to search their rented home, where they found an unlicensed .38 caliber pistol with over 30 bullets, a holster, and related equipment hidden in a drawer.
During interrogation, both admitted to drug use and illegal firearm possession. They claimed they used drugs to work, as their occupation is refrigerator and freezer repair technicians. Drug tests at the hospital confirmed the presence of methamphetamine in their systems, constituting illegal use of Category 1 narcotics in violation of the law.
They were taken to Sadao Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of Category 1 narcotics, drug use, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
