Chiang Rai Police Arrest 14-Year-Old Boys Trafficking Ice, 15-Year-Old with 1 Million Meth Pills, 16-Year-Old Leading by Motorcycle

The Deputy Commander of Chiang Rai Provincial Police announced the results of a methamphetamine crackdown, revealing the arrest of a gang of 14-year-old boys trafficking ice and ketamine, a 15-year-old driving an SUV hiding 1 million meth pills, and a 16-year-old riding a motorcycle as a guide.

At 11:00 AM on 6 May 2026, at Chiang Rai Provincial Police Headquarters, Police Colonel Ratphon Noichangkid, Deputy Commander of Chiang Rai Provincial Police, Mr. Prasert Jitpleechip, Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai, Police Colonel Kiattisak Jitprasan, Chief of Mae Chan Police Station, and soldiers from Task Force Chao Tak jointly announced the results of a crackdown seizing 4,638,000 meth pills, 25.8 kg of ice, and 4.1 kg of ketamine, with 10 suspects arrested.

Case 1: On 26 April 2026, Muang Chiang Rai Police intercepted a black Chevrolet pickup truck on Wiang Burapha Road, Village 6, Rim Kok Subdistrict, arresting 3 suspects and seizing 1,640,000 meth pills.




Case 2: On 30 April 2026, Mae Chan Police arrested three 14-year-old boys (using pseudonyms A, B, and C) from Chiang Rai province riding a motorcycle carrying backpacks containing 25.8 kg of ice and 4.1 kg of ketamine on a public road in Ban Wiang Sa, Village 7, Si Kham Subdistrict, Mae Chan District.

Case 3: On 4 November 2026, around 9:00 PM, Police Colonel Kodsada Ngamchit, Chief of Mae Suai Police Station, with the Chiang Rai Provincial Police investigation team set up a drug checkpoint on the Chiang Rai–Chiang Mai road at Ban Tha Ko, Village 14, Tha Ko Subdistrict, Mae Suai District. They found a six-wheel Foton truck, license plate 75-7527 Chonburi, painted yellow to mimic a parcel delivery company vehicle, modified with a secret compartment hiding 1,998,000 meth pills.

During interrogation, Mr. Itthirit, 26, from Bang Rup Subdistrict, Thung Yai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, confessed to driving from Lampang to pick up meth pills in Mae Yao Subdistrict, hired to deliver to Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. Authorities detained him for further investigation to identify accomplices for prosecution.




Case 4: At 6:20 PM on 4 May 2026, Police Colonel Kiattisak Jitprasan, Chief of Mae Chan Police, ordered the 191 patrol unit to set a drug checkpoint on the Kiu Phrao–Tha Khao Ploek road, Tha Khao Ploek Subdistrict. They stopped a Honda Mobilio car, license plate Kor 5861, whose driver attempted to turn around and escape. Upon inspection, 15-year-old driver Ice (alias) was found with five rainbow-colored fertilizer sacks containing 1,000,000 meth pills.




Preliminary interrogation revealed that Ice admitted being hired by a Myanmar man to deliver the meth pills in Muang Chiang Rai District for a fee of 200,000 baht. He collected the drugs in Li Che Subdistrict, Mae Fah Luang District.

Subsequently, the investigation team called Wolf Pack Night expanded the case, arresting two 16-year-olds (aliases Khor and Arthit) who were waiting on motorcycles in front of a convenience store in Pa O Don Chai Subdistrict, Muang Chiang Rai District. They set a trap requiring the suspects to call the drug recipient. Eventually, Mr. Thaweesap Sarachai, also known as Uncle Sing, 63, residing in Village 7, Huai Yang Kham Subdistrict, Chun District, Phayao Province, arrived in a silver-bronze Toyota Corolla, license plate Kom 3203 Chiang Rai, to pick up all the meth pill sacks on a public road opposite the convenience store near Singha Park, Mae Korn Subdistrict, Muang District.

Upon interrogation, Mr. Thaweesap, aka Uncle Sing, stated he was hired via the LINE user SK but did not know or meet the employer. Authorities detained all related suspects and transferred them to Mae Chan Police for legal proceedings.
