Authorities are intensifying their search for a male prisoner who escaped from Thanyaburi District Prison while attending vocational training. CCTV footage captured a pickup truck with a cage and removed license plates waiting to pick him up.

At 12:00 p.m. on 8 May 2026, reporters provided updates on the case of 37-year-old male prisoner Seksan Rupthong, who escaped from Thanyaburi District Prison in Rangsit Subdistrict, Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province, during the morning of 7 May 2026.

Upon inspecting areas around Thanyaburi District Prison, although prison officials have not disclosed details to the media, inquiries with local youths suggest the escape route was the road alongside the prison, consistent with CCTV footage from that area.. EvidenceCCTV footage at 10:38 a.m. on the day of the incident showed a dark gray pickup truck with removed license plates and a high cage driving from Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road toward Thanyaburi District Prison. At 10:41 a.m., the same vehicle exited the alley rapidly, heading back toward Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road, spending only about three minutes in the alley.

Authorities initially believe this pickup truck was used to pick up Seksan Rupthong while he was outside the prison for work duties before they fled together. Police and related agencies are currently reviewing CCTV footage along various routes to track down the escaped prisoner for legal proceedings.
