
The Commander of the Crime Suppression Division revealed that the Crime Suppression Police Commander has been assigned to assist in resolving the case of “A-Tee C4,” a Chinese man found in possession of war weapons. Investigations into financial transactions and phone data are ongoing, and it is not yet concluded whether he is a terrorist. He also confirmed that the case will not be taken lightly.
In the case where Major General Pongphan Wongmanithes, Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, expanded the investigation into Ming Chen Sun, 31, a Chinese national in Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, leading to the discovery of explosives, war firearms, and numerous trap-type explosive devices.
At 14:00 on 11 May at the press room on the second floor of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) headquarters, Police Lieutenant General Natthasak Chaowanasai, Commander of the Crime Suppression Division, revealed that initially, the National Police Chief personally took command. The CIB assigned Major General Phatthanasak Bupphasuwan, Commander of the Crime Suppression Division, to join the case, focusing on phone data and financial trails. Duties have been divided among Provincial Police Region 2, the Metropolitan Police Bureau, and security task forces under Deputy National Police Chief Police General Samran Nuanma to piece together all information before assessing the suspect’s intentions regarding Thailand. He confirmed the case will not be overlooked. Regarding whether the suspect is a terrorist, he said initial information exists but declined to draw conclusions at this stage.
As for the case file, it has not yet been transferred to the Crime Suppression Division because Provincial Police Region 2 is still capable of handling the case.
