Chinese Man Hospitalized After Severe Stress and Convulsions During Intake at Pattaya Special Prison

Chaos again as correctional officers rushed a "Chinese man" to hospital after severe stress caused convulsions with fixed eyes during his intake screening at Pattaya Special Prison.

At 19:30 on 11 May 2026, reports stated that correctional staff at Pattaya Special Prison in Nong Plalai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, urgently transported Ming Chen Sun, 31, a Chinese detainee charged with concealing large amounts of C-4 explosives and military weapons, to Pattaya Pattamakun Hospital after he suffered convulsions during prisoner intake screening.

Initially, the atmosphere outside Pattaya Pattamakun Hospital (Bang Lamung Hospital) was tense, with over 10 officers from Bang Lamung Police Station present to maintain security. Inquiries revealed that Ming Chen Sun, aged 31, experienced severe convulsions and physical weakness.

Further information indicated that since his arrest, the detainee had refused to eat for three days and was entering his fourth day, consuming only plain water. He was also under significant stress, which led to these symptoms.

Regarding treatment, medical staff administered intravenous fluids and medication to help the detainee relax, with plans to monitor his condition continuously for at least 24 hours.
