A confrontation over a woman erupted on a road in Pathum Thani when a covered pickup truck deliberately rammed a sedan. The man then dragged his ex-girlfriend into his vehicle and fled. The woman's new partner tried to intervene but was slashed on the hand with a knife.
At 12:00 on 12 May 2026, Police Sub-Lieutenant Khwankamon Promma, deputy investigator at Suan Prik Thai Police Station, was notified of a vehicle collision and assault causing injury on Liap Prapa Road, Village No. 6, Suan Prik Thai Subdistrict, Mueang Pathum Thani District, Pathum Thani Province, and went to investigate.
At the scene, a white Toyota Innova with Bangkok license plates was found with severe front-end damage, including a broken radiator, making it undrivable. At the rear of the vehicle, a Thai breed dog was heard barking inside. Nearby was Mr. Thanit, 38, the driver, who had a cut wound on the back of his left hand. The other vehicle, a covered Isuzu D-Max pickup truck, had fled the scene after the incident.
Mr. Thanit said that before the incident, he was driving with his girlfriend and their dog to get food. At the accident spot, a curve, the opposing pickup truck deliberately rammed his car hard. Then the woman's ex-boyfriend got out of the truck and dragged her into his vehicle. When he tried to intervene and resist, the other man attacked him with a knife, causing injury. The dashcam recorded the entire incident. He affirmed he would pursue legal action as he was assaulted and his property damaged.
Mrs. Kongjai, 64, the victim's mother, said her son called to report the assault, so she rushed to see him. She said the woman had just moved in with her son for only two nights due to family issues, until the ex-boyfriend came to take her away as described.
Police Sub-Lieutenant Khwankamon Promma recorded the victim’s statement as evidence and sent him for a medical examination to support the case. Officers will also review CCTV footage along the suspected escape route to quickly identify and prosecute the suspect according to the law.
