Police are set to file three serious charges against a Sergeant Major in the Security Police for abusing and detaining a young nurse, who is his former girlfriend. He is to be summoned to acknowledge the charges within this week. A drug test returned positive, and repeated disciplinary measures have been ordered.
On 13 May 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Col. Sirichai Srichai Panya, superintendent of Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station, updated on the case where Ms. Paveena Hongsakul, chairperson of the Paveena Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women, accompanied the female nurse victim to meet investigators at Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station for further questioning in the presence of relevant officials. Pol. Col. Kachent Setaputta, deputy commander of Chaiyaphum Provincial Police, assisting at Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Police, also participated in the inquiry.
Initially, investigators plan to press charges against the Sergeant Major from the Security Police for unlawful detention, assault, and violations under the Computer Crime Act related to filming and distributing obscene clips on social media. He is expected to be summoned for charges within this week, as the case has attracted public attention. Commanders have instructed strict and transparent handling, with decisive action if violations are confirmed.
Ms. Paveena Hongsakul revealed that she contacted Police Major General Surapong Thammaphitak, commander of Police Division 1, after learning of the case. The unit ordered Police Lieutenant Colonel Thawatchai Saikrasun, chief of Division 2, Police Division 1, to take urgent steps: 1. summon the Sergeant Major to meet investigators at Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station; 2. conduct drug testing; 3. transfer him immediately back to his Bangkok unit; and 4. form a committee to investigate the facts. If wrongdoing is confirmed, both disciplinary and criminal actions will be pursued.
Furthermore, Ms. Paveena stated that the drug test results for the Sergeant Major showed presence of illicit substances. Meanwhile, the victim remains fearful for her safety and is under the care of the Paveena Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women. The foundation will continue to closely monitor the progress of the case.
