Cyber Police Raid AM08 Gambling Website Based in Ranong, Domain Changed Multiple Times to Evade Arrest

Cyber police raided the "AM08" gambling network, finding that the website changed its domain name multiple times to evade police. The operation was based in Mueang Ranong District and continued using the same customer base.

On 13 May 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Surapol Prembutr, Commander of the Cyber Crime Division, along with Pol. Lt. Gen. Naradet Thiprak, Commander attached to the Office of the Royal Thai Police Commander, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Sarayut Chunnanawat, Commander of Cyber Crime Division 2, ordered Pol. Col. Tosak Panklinphut, Superintendent of Division 4, Cyber Crime Division 2, Pol. Lt. Col. Akrin Sannak, Deputy Superintendent, and Pol. Lt. Prapas Somwong, Intelligence Officer, along with Lt. Cmdr. Kukiat Chertsungnoen, Deputy Superintendent, to lead a task force to search targets connected to online gambling in Ranong province.

The investigation team, holding Ranong Provincial Court search warrant No. K.26/2569, searched the house at 4/13 Moo 3, Bang Non Subdistrict, Mueang Ranong District, and arrested Ms. Thipsiwat Hitpeng, 24, a Ranong resident. They seized one computer, one mobile phone, and one internet router as evidence.

The investigation found the website "AM08" had over 36,000 members, had operated for more than two years, and generated an average turnover of 6 million baht per month, or over 72 million baht annually. It illegally offered online gambling services including lottery, slots, international football betting, baccarat, dragon tiger, hi-lo, pok deng, and various other games.

Users transferred money to play online gambling via automated bank account systems. They could also withdraw money directly through the website. The site had admins who assisted users with registration, financial transactions, and encouraged online gambling participation.

Further investigation revealed the gambling website was based in Mueang Ranong District. Technical analysis showed the website had changed its domain name multiple times but kept the same customer base, indicating an intent to conceal and avoid detection, making it harder to trace and apprehend those involved.

It was also found that before using the name "AM08," the website had monthly turnovers in the tens of millions of baht. Authorities gathered evidence and obtained a court warrant to search the residence and arrest the suspect with seized evidence.

Preliminary interrogation of Ms. Thipsiwat revealed she admitted to working as an admin for the gambling website for over a year, receiving a monthly salary of 15,000 baht.

She is being prosecuted for organizing or facilitating gambling, creating schemes to lure or advertise to others directly or indirectly to gamble via electronic media without official authorization.
