Ming Chen Sun Remains in ICU Latest Condition Unknown, Awaiting Correctional Department to Disclose Information

Ming Chen Sun remains hospitalized in the ICU. The hospital has refused to disclose his latest condition, stating that the Correctional Department must be the one to release such information. As for case developments, the police spokesperson is expected to provide an official update personally.

On 14 May 2026, reporters at Pattaya Patumkan Hospital in Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province, observed that special operations police from Region 2 and Chonburi Provincial Police, along with correctional officers from Pattaya Central Prison, continued to closely guard and monitor 31-year-old Chinese suspect Ming Chen Sun. He faces charges related to firearms and explosives. After overdosing on medication, he suffered convulsions and fixed gaze while being transferred to the prison, which led to his hospitalization on 11 May 2026, as previously reported.

Currently, Ming Chen Sun remains in the intensive care unit (ICU) on the second floor of the hospital. The hospital has declined to disclose his latest condition but has informed the Correctional Department, which has been requested to be the official source of any information regarding his health status.

Regarding the case progress, reporters noted that at Najomtien Police Station in Sattahip district, Chonburi province, no meetings or press briefings on the case have taken place. It was revealed only that, under the order of the national police chief, various agencies have been assigned responsibility to conduct further investigations and expand the inquiry.

Initially, Region 2 investigation police are responsible for tracing the origin of the M4 firearm and ammunition (one weapon has been accounted for, while another remains under investigation). Chonburi provincial investigators handle the origin of the explosives. The Crime Suppression Division is tasked with tracing financial transactions and mobile phone usage. The Internal Security and Intelligence units conduct in-depth investigations. All information will be reported directly to the national police chief, and the Royal Thai Police spokesperson will provide an official update on the case progress personally.
