A deceased body was found inside a car in the parking lot behind a condominium building in Muang Thong Thani. Pak Kret Police are investigating to determine the exact cause of death.
At 12:00 on 17 May 2026, Police Lieutenant Jarayut Boonthong, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Pak Kret Police Station, Nonthaburi Province, received a report of a dead body found inside a car in the parking lot behind a condominium building in Muang Thong Thani, Ban Mai Subdistrict. He went to investigate along with Police Colonel Adirek Thongkamkaew, Chief of Pak Kret Police Station; Police Lieutenant Colonel Karun Limpirojnarit, Deputy Chief of Investigation; Police Lieutenant Wisit Chomchoei, Investigation Officer; Police Lieutenant Sanan Janmo, Deputy Investigation Officer; and the investigation team.
At the scene, a red Nissan X-Trail van was parked in the innermost spot of the lot. Inside the car, on the right rear seat, a corpse was found in a seated position leaning to the left, showing advanced decomposition with a strong foul odor. It is estimated the person had been dead for at least two weeks.
Also found was a charcoal stove placed on the left rear footwell. The stove showed signs of charcoal having been lit but was completely burned out, leaving only ashes. Ms. Chanakan Sakulrungarun, 38, the deceased’s girlfriend from Nonthaburi Province, was present to give her statement to police.
Ms. Chanakan stated that the deceased was Ms. Napat Sangharun, 37, a tom, residing in a village in Bang Khu Rat Subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi. On 28 April, Napat had a severe argument with her mother over the family grocery business. She then abruptly drove the car involved out from their home in Bang Bua Thong in the evening and could not be contacted afterward. Napat’s mother subsequently filed a missing person report at Bang Bua Thong Police Station. Later, authorities called to inform that the body had been found inside a car.
Investigations revealed that the deceased had driven the car into the parking lot at the scene on the evening of 28 April, before being found dead inside the vehicle.
Preliminary police suspicions are that the deceased was under stress after the argument with her mother and took her own life by self-suffocation inside the car. However, police are continuing their investigation to establish the exact cause of death.
