Detention of Pub Waiter Who Gave Pot Key to Female Customer Before Rape Claims He Did Not Deceive Her

Investigators at Si Racha Police Station escorted a 22-year-old waiter from a well-known pub out of custody and sent him to Chonburi Provincial Court for detention. He insisted he did not deceive her, saying she came with him willingly.

In the case of a woman in Si Racha filing a complaint after being given a "pot key" to smoke by a male pub employee downtown, who then took advantage to rape her, leaving her helpless, authorities later arrested the suspect, Mr. Shogun, last night as previously reported.

The latest development: at about 10:30 a.m. on 20 May 2026, at the detainee holding room of Si Racha Police Station, Si Racha District, Chonburi Province, police brought in 22-year-old Mr. Shogun, wanted under a warrant from Chonburi Provincial Court for rape and distribution of Category 2 narcotics, to be transported to Chonburi Provincial Court to proceed with legal action.

Mr. Shogun showed no signs of stress. Notably, no relatives came to support or wait for him during the transfer.

Mr. Shogun told reporters only that he did not invite the victim; she went with him voluntarily.

Nevertheless, Si Racha Police remain unconvinced by Mr. Shogun’s statements. The case will now proceed to Chonburi Provincial Court for sentencing according to the law.
